“Gaza is a test for the Islamic World, God Willing, we will pass this test with flying colours and take our place alongside our brothers and sisters in the strongest possible way”

These trite words were uttered by the shameless Muslim emperor with no clothes of the modern era – Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on the 24^th October 2025.

A reminder – prior to Oct 7 2023 Turkiye had growing trade, diplomatic and civil ties with Israel. Post Oct 7, 2023 – direct trade was suspended in 2024 (though indirect trade still reportedly took place), and diplomatic ties were not even officially suspended, merely downgraded. Throughout the conflict Turkiye has barked from the side and done nothing required of them from Islam the past 2 years. Fittingly – they were not even permitted by Israel to participate in the so-called “humanitarian air drops” which were used for media and propaganda consumption last year, excluding them from the kind of empty rhetorical endeavours beloved to the Turkiye regime.

In the last month Erdogan has since jumped onto the Trump ceasefire plan for Gaza – a plan which is meant to effectively manage a final surrender of Palestine to Israel and West while assimilating all the Arab and Muslim world into normalisation. This scheme is apparently part of a “master plan” worked on by the American administration for the last two years (in other words – as soon as Oct 7 occurred) as told by Witkoff and Kushner on CBS’s 60 minutes. It is nothing to do with the interests of Islam and Palestine, and everything to do with protecting the interests of US.

This is the plan which Turkiye effectively forced upon Hamas and the other groups in Gaza to win further favour with Trump and position Turkiye to have more influence in the region. And the plan which Erdogan proclaims as standing strongly alongside his brothers and sisters in Palestine.

Most Muslims have tired of hearing the excessive empty rhetoric from Erdogan and others in his government over the years.

A man who has barked loudly and provided nothing of substance for the Islamic cause of Palestine ought to at least show some shame during this period where everyone can see just what the ceasefire has meant which has been

1. surrender of all leverage on the Palestinian side,
2. continued bombings, shooting and killing of Palestinians unabated both in Gaza and the West Bank
3. Continued restricted aid

 all while proclaiming to the world that the ceasefire still holds!

But Erdogan cannot help himself and continues to push out inane boosterism and Islamic rhetoric for the sake of the minority of naïve imams, analysts and activists to lap up. At this points its beyond shameful.

Yes, Gaza is a test for the Islamic umma and the current regimes across the Muslim countries. Lets not pretend what the outcome has been, the shame upon us as an ummah and the specific disgrace upon Erdogan and the others in positions of power.
